A great start to the winter sailing programme on Saturday with around 45 Lasers fronting up for 2 races at RQYS on a beautiful winter's day. 24 degrees and 15knots of breeze.
BSS had a terriffic representation with approx 10 boats. There are anumber of options for sailing over the coming months and Peter Fell has put most of them on the BSS web page -check Members info - Laser news.
in chronological order to help you plan your weekends see below:
Sat 8th May Frostbite Regatta 1 RQYS 15th /16th; Free Sat 22 May – BSS Presentation night : 23rd DPSS race 29/30 – Free 5/6/ June – Free ? Mooloolaba regatta? 12/13/14 June: Queens B’day weekend; Free 19/20 June: Sunday 20th DPSS race Sat 26 June: Free Sat 3 July: Free 10/11 July Frost Bite Regatta 2 (relocated form 13th june) 16/17/18/19 July: Laser Masters regatta Sat 24 July: Frostbite regatta 3 , 31/1st July/August: Free 7/8 August; Free 14/15 August Frostbite Regatta 4 21/22 August ; Sunday 22 DPSS 28/29 August; Free 4/5 Sept; Free
As well Paradise point holds a race most Sundays. There is also a rumour from some Laser sailers of a Moolooaba series on 5/6 june - does anyone know anymore on this? i have had a look at the web site and it seems to be a yacht regatta.

It looks like Peter Fell Chris Connell and myself from BSS are going to Moolloolaba for a big weekend of sailing. Apparently Jessica Watson is also going along to meet us!
Tony - any more news of any RQYS starters?
Today - Wednesday 26 is last day for entries - unless you want to be a late entry. cheers Michael

Good luck in Moolloolaba on the weekend guys.
Anyone keen for a Sat sail at BSS on the 12th or 19th...?
Cheers Mark

Not a lot of interest for Mooloolaba from RQ I'm afraid. All the young hotshots have some training camp or other at Noosa and most of the old blokes have convenient excuses - mine is something to do with kids and soccer. Looks like Disco Darren will be there though, flying the RQ burgee.
Seems to be a friendly forecast, so have fun. See you all at RQ for Chillfest on June 19/20?
