Hey Eveyone
The boom on my Laser (Happy Harry Two) snapped just before the start of the race yesterday and I'm looking to get a 2nd hand replacement, hopefully in time for next weeks race.
If anyone knows of one for sale, could you please let me know.
Cheers Mark

You were going pretty fast on that reach before the bang! I don't think Harry had ever been going that quick before. Might be worth checking your goosenect rivets, vang fittings too as they are all going to get stressed.
I don't know of any second hand booms, a new one is around $300 I think. May be worth checking your insurance policy, if it is not the product of "natural wear and tear" you may be able to claim on it.
I was able to get a new mast when mine broke a year or so ago, for the $100 excess.
For next week, if you haven't organised a replacement, I am sure the club would not mind you using the boom from the club boat "Just Try Me" or another boom from one of the boats not going out. Dan's Laser is one of the 3-stack, and I am sure he would not mind it being borrowed to get another laser out on the river.
I'm away for two weeks in Syndey, see you when I get back
cheers Peter

Yeah, good thinking, will see what the insurance company say.
Okay, will see how I get on this week, and cheers for helping out.
Good luck in Sydney
