Hi, Welcome to the Message Board for the Brisbane Sailing Squadron (BSS). We are a group of Sailing enthusiasts who sail each Summer Saturday from the BSS at Bulimba. Some of us also sail socially from Bulimba during the off season. This is an unofficial Message Board used by us to communicate with each other, and it's all about having fun sailing and supporting the BSS. If you'd like to join us either here or on the river please feel welcome. To those who have not used a Message Board service before I hope the following posts can help you out. Cheers Rob Lovett

Hi again, you can view all threads and posts on this board as a guest. But, if you wish to have your two bits worth or help this board be successful by participating then you must register. Click on the "Register" button under the Message Board heading. You'll be presented with a a form that requires your username and email address. Choose a simple username, mine is "Rob" and be very careful when inputting your email address because your password will be sent to that address. Next time you log in make sure you go to "Profiles" again in the Menu Bar under the heading and change your password to something you can remember. Cheers Rob

At the top of the screen on the second line you'll see the time. If the time is wrong by about 15 hours, change the "Time Offset" setting in your "Profile" to "15". This setting is way down towards the bottom of your screen. Cheers Rob

So, now you've got the idea of what the board's all about, you've registered and changed your profile. Your next adventure is to make posts.
I have set aside a special forum for you to practice your posts. Go to the "Test" forum from the Main front page. Click on "New Thread" in the header or footer of the table. Enter a subject in the "Subject" field. Tab down to "Message" and write your message. When you're finished click on "Post" Voila! Your first message.
You won't always want to start a new thread. Sometimes you'll just want to reply to a message someone else has posted. Try it now. Go to your message in the thread you just posted and click on "Reply" The screen looks the same but the message will be posted under your previous post in the same thread. Practice some more and have fun Cheers Rob

If you look at some of the above posts you'll notice "last edit..." at the bottom of the message. That's because I messed up the post and needed to edit it. If that happens to you just view your post and click on "modify" at the top of the post. Then "save" your changes. Only you and moderators can edit or delete your posts. They would only do this as a last resort if the post was offensive or defamatory. Have fun. Rob
