When the rules for the new rigging (turbo pack etc) were introduced they also introduced a rule re a mast retention strap. Some use a cord witha boggle that acts as a stopper at the top of the goose neck. The other end is attached to the outhaul/cunningham deck block at the foot of the mast. Here's a great idea! Make the loop that passes through or attaches to the block big enough to pass your centreboard shock cord through. This keeps the shock cord retained at the foot of the mast and prevents it rising up and getting caught in the vang block. Cheers Rob
